I also clip my ends twice a year while it is in it’s curly state as well. I don’t apply heat ever this is my first time flat ironing my hair in 6 years but I blowed dried it a year ago to clip my ends. My hair is always pinned up to the very top or side of my head every night not being slept on. So to keep your edges and length from being damaged be sure to sleep with either satin bonnets or satin bedding. Cotton, wool, and other abrasive materials break your hair and strip your hair of oils which cause breakage. I sleep with satin pillow cases every single day all of my bedding is either satin or natural hair friendly. I only change my hairstyle once a week and sometimes once every two weeks. Why? So that it won’t break off, we tend to always feel the need to always want to show off our length but when your hair is rubbing against your neck, necklaces, your collar, clothes, coats, hats, scarfs, pillows, blankets, your hair being exposed to the weather…heat and cold, wind, pollution in the air and all of the other toxicities that we are dealing with daily…especially hands…your hands and other peoples hands all of this cause breakage. I keep my hair pinned away 99.99999999999% of the time lol. I use shea moistures curling gel soufflé as my gel and my conditioner is honey and almond it’s called naked. Then I apply grapeseed oil on top of the conditioner, then I apply gel. Why? Because conditioner coats my hair and keep my hair from drying out and tangling up. I deep conditioning often, also it’s conditioner on my hair daily.
I never ever use a comb, I only finger detangle or brush my hair with a denman brush when I am conditioning during my hair washing process so that’s when my hair is completely wet and saturated with conditioner. I wash my hair with apple cider vinegar, no shampoo ever. I order my grapeseed oil from Napa valley via Amazon. I apply moisture to my hair twice a day morning and night my moisturizer of choice is wata lol…plain ole water and then I seal with an oil, my oil of choice is grapeseed oil.
So for everyone that messaged me and asked… I’m going for tailbone length…literally give me 6 months and I’ll be there.
